Ways to Give
Retro Day & Poker Run on the Slopes is March 18! Win a Blizzard Ski Set Up Just for Donating!
I’ve got a couple of things to discuss in this note. First – our annual Retro Day and Poker Run on the slopes will be March 18 – Join us in your favorite retro clothes for fun, a live band on the deck (weather permitting) and a great time on the hill. We’ll be drawing the Ski Patrol raffle and will have prizes for the best (?) dressed and more! C’mon up on March 18! Read on for how your donation to the Foundation can win a set of Blizzard skis with bindings!
Second is a bit more serious. We are building a new ski patrol clinic on the mountain. You’re already on the website, so you can see the support we already have, the plans and learn more about what we do and how we do it.
We know you love participating in snowsports at Great Divide. We love it too! We’ve recognized the urgent need for a new clinic that meets our communities growing needs and started working with Great Divide to accomplish our goal last year. We are planning on being in the new patrol clinic for the start of the next ski season, but in order to accomplish our goal we need your and our mountain communities' support.
Simply put, we need your help to make the new patrol clinic building a reality. Great Divide Ski Patrol, Great Divide Ski Area, and patrollers are already fully committed as are many local businesses.
Now, we are asking the greater Great Divide community of skiers, boarders, and patrons to help. You can help by showing your support and securely donating at the GDSP Foundation website https://gdspfoundation.org/donate. There you will see all the business support we already have – now, we need your help too.
Bonus: your donation could win you a new Blizzard ski setup!
Let’s be honest, most people don’t realize the ski area and volunteer ski patrol are separate entities. Based on the federal non-profit charter of the National Ski Patrol, volunteer patrols are required to be separate entities. The all-volunteer Great Divide Ski Patrol never charges for its services or the medical equipment (mostly splints and wraps) used to help those who need it, and we don’t plan on it.
The Great Divide Ski Patrol Foundation, our local, charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is made up of patrollers, as well as some neighbors who support keeping the fun on the mountain safe. The non-profit foundation was created to support the new patrol clinic, but we need your help.
WIN A BLIZZARD SKI SETUP JUST FOR DONATING!
We’ll be giving away a Blizzard ski setup, including bindings and mounting, to one lucky donor supporting the new patrol clinic! The winner will be drawn from donations made through our website or via checks received through May 1, 2023. One entry for the first $100 donated, and an additional entry for each additional $50 donation. A $100 donation gets one entry, $150 gets two entries, $200 gets three entries, etc.
Become part of our efforts by helping to build and equip the new patrol clinic building by making a secure donation through the GDSP Foundation website. Donate to win a new Blizzard ski setup!
Great Divide Ski Patrol pays for its own training, equipment, and medical supplies. We’ve received help from the mountain, community members, businesses, volunteers, and St. Peter’s Health in the past, and they’re helping here too, but we need your help for this major effort to build a new patrol clinic now! The new patrol clinic will have easy guest, patient, toboggan, and ambulance access. It will offer more privacy for guests and their families, and a training room for our team volunteer patrollers so we can keep our skills sharp to keep you safe.
Please make a secure donation through our GDSP Foundation website at https://gdspfoundation.org/donate today!
As a charitable, non-profit, your donations are tax deductible! Each online donation of at least $100 or check received by May 1st will be entered to win a new Blizzard ski setup, and it could be you! Donate securely through our GDSP Foundation website at https://gdspfoundation.org/donate.
Thank you for your consideration and support! We’ll see you on the slopes!
P.S. On behalf of the Patrol, please keep the black side of your skis or board down.
Sincerely and with thanks,
Peter Strauss
